A headline price may omit shipping or refer to a different quantity. Put quotes on the same basis before deciding which questions to ask next.
| Option | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Insurance benefit | Which pharmacy is in network? What quantity is covered? Does the quote include my current deductible? |
| Cash or discount quote | What is the final price at my pharmacy? Is a membership required? How is this purchase treated by my plan? |
| Mail-order service | What is included in the price? What are shipping, authorization, refill, and support arrangements? |
A simple comparison example
A fictional quote of $24 plus $6 shipping for 30 days totals $30 per supply period. Another quote of $78 with no shipping for 90 days is $26 per 30-day equivalent. These numbers illustrate the calculation; they are not live prices.
Before changing how you fill a prescription
Confirm eligibility, product details, timing, and any coverage consequences with your pharmacy and insurer. A cheaper entered quote does not answer questions about clinical suitability, licensing, or service quality.
